Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem visited Aurora College’s Yellowknife North Slave Campus on September 24, meeting with Aurora College students and staff.

Governor Macklem delivered a presentation discussing monetary policy and the role of the Bank of Canada in serving Canadians. The event provided students with an opportunity to hear directly from the head of Canada’s central bank, complementing their classroom studies in subjects such as macroeconomics.

It's cranberry season! Staff and students at Thebacha Campus in Fort Smith headed out of a late afternoon cranberry picking session on September 23. It looks like a bumper crop this year!

Wongani Munthali and Onyeka Nneoma Onyeali, fourth year Bachelor of Science in Nursing students, are in Yellowknife high schools this week to promote the second Be a Nursing Student event!

Students in grades 11 and 12 can apply to "be a nursing student" in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Practical Nursing programs for two days (October 20 and 21). They will attend classes and skills labs, meet with current nursing students, and learn about nursing careers with Practice NWT. But mostly, they will get to see how much fun it is to be a nursing student!

Students and staff at Thebacha Campus took part in a "Garden to Plate" pesto workshop on September 18. Sponsored by the College's South Slave Research Centre, which grew all of the plants as part of its northern agriculture research, participants created a variety of pestos, including cilantro, parsley and chive, basil, carrot-top, nasturtium, and kale.

Roberts Rules of Order - Online
