Did you know leaves contain more colours than just green? Join us this week as we become plant scientists and use leaf chromatography to separate and discover the hidden pigments inside leaves!

We'll collect, experiment, observe, and uncover the science behind the beautiful colours of autumn. Perfect for curious minds who love hands-on STEM activities.

The gardening season may be wrapping up, but the fun continues at the garden!

This week, we welcomed PWK Grade 8 and Grade 10 Media Arts students to the Fort Smith Community Garden. The students are currently learning about photography and had the opportunity to explore the garden while capturing the beauty of the season through their lenses.

Last week, students from JBT, PWK, and Aurora College joined the SSRC team in the garden! They helped harvest from our Food Bank plot, explored our interactive garden, and brought some of the bounty back to their schools for processing. The remaining harvest was donated to the local food bank and community organizations.

A huge thank you to all the students for getting their hands dirty, helping out, and giving back to our community!
