Free Community Run Clinic

The next session for the free Community Run Clinic exclusively for Fort Saskatchewan residents starts on Tuesday Oct 13.

Time: 6 PM to 7 PM.

Congratulations to all of the runners in who just completed the current session this week.

This is a non intimidating fun run clinic conducted by a Certified Run Coach and Group Leaders from Fort Sask Runners . It's all about developing a habit of recreational running that you can do for a lifetime.

We are looking for 10 more brand new runners who want to go from Couch To 5K.

Congratulations to all the runners who just completed their run training level tonight.

We are now adding 10 more runners into our Couch To 5K.

Our next session starts on Tuesday Oct 13 at 6 PM. Registration information will be posted tomorrow.

Great fall ride in the river valley on Sunday with River Valley Alliance

The River Valley Alliance Fall Colours cycling tour is on Sunday Oct 4 starting at 9:30 AM until approximately noon.

We still have room for more cyclists. We start at Terwilliger Park and ride to Hawrelak Park and back. Approx 22KM.

This is a very scenic and relaxing ride and includes 4 bridges across the river.

Low registration fee of $5.

Free Community Run Clinic for Fort Saskatchewan residents

Fort Saskatchewan residents can register at any time for the Run Clinic and attend on the very next Tuesday at 6 PM.

Due to the various levels already underway we can now take more runners in each level.

No experience is required.

Another great Ramble and Run event conducted by the Fort Saskatchewan Trail Alliance today.

Very good family exercise event.

We are fortunate to have the FSTA volunteers who keep the single track trails groomed and safe for the residents to use.

The Fort Saskatchewan public works department has repaired the River Valley Alliance trail and is ready for full use.

This 6km trail is located 1km south of the Dow baseball diamonds and will take you to the new Beaver Hills Bridge which connects Strathcona County to Edmonton.

Dow Centennial Centre Track Expansion Survey

The track expansion online survey, linked below, will remain open until October 3, 2026.

In June 2026, as part of Council's review of the City's 10-Year Capital Plan, Administration was directed to develop conceptual designs for a new arena at the DCC. As part of this work, the City will explore whether a running track expansion could be incorporated into the future project.

This survey is intended to gather early public input to help inform the conceptual planning process.

Additional public engagement on the arena project and other recreation facilities is planned for 2027 through the development of the City's Culture, Recreation and Parks Master Plan.
Please note that the arena project remains in the preliminary planning stages.

Detailed design is currently scheduled for consideration in 2030, construction approval in 2031, and project completion in 2032, subject to future Council decisions.

The survey will remain open until October 3, 2026.
