Just B4

Camping season has arrived at the Bert Ambrose Just B4! The kids are going to love the set up for tomorrow.

Miss Jen set up a wonderful Enchanted Forest for the Just B4 kids this morning!

It’s that in between time of the year. A time where there are only a few hard packed snow piles and lots of wet play areas. Today we brought out some cars and trucks to race! We learned that not all vehicles go down the hill at the same speed and some, not in the right direction.

Our first Directed Drawing. I left this as an optional event but they did so well I can see doing this as a class in April.
If you’ve never heard of directed drawing. This the process where I draw a picture step by step on the whiteboard while the children copy each step on their own papers. We have many different ages and levels of development in the room so each picture becomes a jump off point for each child.
The skills the children are learning are:
Observation
Fine motor skills
Organization skills
Working on their visual vocabulary.
For the children to produce this art the children need to work in patience and repetition allowing their hands to catch up to what their eyes are seeing.

We have been talking about all things Leprechauns. What would we wish for if a Leprechaun gave us one wish? There were quite the spectrum of wish ideas. I love the “Live House”. He said it would do things for you and give you things! Hello!! A house that self cleans! I’m in! Lol

Pizza party day was a blast! We picked our toppings waited patiently for the pizzas to cook. I got one thumbs up and one ten fingers up (she told me ten thumbs). I guess that means it was good. Lol

BUILDING COMMUNITY!!!
One little person spilled some beads on the floor today by accident. No problem his friends said! They all helped to pick up the beads. As the only adult in the room I saw the little persons face go from utter despair to happy when his friends started to pitch in. This is what teaching is all about…these amazing social/emotional growing moments

Friendship day the last two days. We have really had a whole month of working on the friendship theme. Today we finished our “friends” T-shirts, made friendship bracelets and had some inside day dancing. I even got a friendship ring with “a real diamond”!!
