Dr. Clark Public School

Dr. K.A. Clark was proud to launch our first Indigenous Rookie League for students who identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit in partnership with our Jays Affiliate School program.

Throughout the season, students developed baseball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while building friendships, celebrating culture, and fostering a strong sense of belonging. We were also fortunate to welcome the Fort McMurray Oil Giants for a special practice with our athletes!

We wrapped up the season with a Cree song and a rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame by our DC Choir. Families and classes joined us to cheer on the players, and everyone enjoyed hotdogs and popcorn following an exciting tie game.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this inaugural season such a success. We can’t wait to continue growing this program next year!

Dr. K.A. Clark wrapped up its third season of Challenger Baseball as a proud Jays Affiliate School this past Thursday!

To celebrate an incredible season, we hosted our year-end game alongside the Good Shepherd Challenger Baseball team. It’s safe to say that the players had an absolute blast, supported every step of the way by our educational assistants, teachers, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, and families.

Creating opportunities and removing barriers for all students is at the heart of what we do, and we couldn’t be prouder of this program and the joy, growth, and sense of belonging it brings to our athletes.
