🍂 September Newsletter- Mini Miracle Dayhome 🍂

September was a wonderful and exciting month at Mini Miracles Dayhome!! After a busy and enjoyable summer, the children transitioned back into their routines and began the new season with lots of enthusiasm. Our month was filled with music, art, outdoor exploration, sensory activities, and many hands-on learning experiences.

🎼🎵 Welcome, Mrs. Jenny – Music Class

We are very excited to welcome our new Music Teacher, "Mrs. Jenny", to Mini Miracles Dayhome. The children had a wonderful time singing songs, dancing to different rhythms, exploring musical instruments, and enjoying music together.

Music provides children with many opportunities to develop their language, listening skills, coordination, memory, confidence, and self-expression. The children especially enjoyed moving to the rhythm and discovering the different sounds that each instrument makes. It was wonderful to see their excitement and participation during music class.

🧑‍🎨 🎨 Welcome, Mrs. Melissa – Art Class,

We are also happy to welcome our new Art Teacher, "Mrs. Melissa". The children thoroughly enjoyed their art classes and had the opportunity to explore their creativity through different art materials and activities.

Art encourages children to express their ideas and imagination, while developing important fine motor skills. Holding brushes and art materials, making different marks, and exploring colours and textures all help strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers while building confidence and creativity.

🪨🍁 Fall Nature Scavenger Hunt,

One of the highlights of September was our Fall Nature Scavenger Hunt. The children went outdoors and searched for different natural items, including pinecones, sticks, colourful fall leaves, and rocks.

This activity provided a wonderful hands-on learning experience. The children practiced "observation and identification skills" while exploring the natural environment around them. They learned to notice the different colours, shapes, sizes, and textures found in nature. It also encouraged curiosity and helped the children appreciate the beautiful changes that take place during the fall season.

🍁🍂 “Trace the Fall” Activity,

The children also enjoyed our "Trace the Fall” activity, which combined learning with the beautiful theme of autumn. Activities like tracing help children develop hand-eye coordination, pencil control, concentration, and early writing skills.

It was wonderful to watch the children practice their skills while learning about the colours and changes associated with fall.

🍁 🌿 Fall Sensory Play,

Our fall-themed sensory play was another favourite! The children explored play dough, fall leaves, sticks, acorns, and rocks, using the natural materials to create, build, and imagine.

Sensory play allows children to learn through touch, sight, and movement. It helps develop fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and language as children describe what they are feeling and creating. The children had so much fun using their imagination and turning simple natural materials into their own little creations.

🎨 Painting with Nature,

The children also had an opportunity to paint using natural materials and fall leaves. Instead of using only traditional art tools, they explored different ways to create patterns, shapes, and textures with items they found in nature.

This activity encouraged the children to think creatively and experiment with different textures and techniques. It also connected our art experience with our outdoor learning, helping the children understand that nature can be a wonderful source of inspiration and creativity.

♥️A Wonderful September at Mini Miracles♥️

Overall, September was a month filled with learning, creativity, exploration, discovery, and fun. It has been wonderful to see the children settle back into their routines, welcome our new teachers, and participate so enthusiastically in all of our activities.

We are so proud of our "Mini Miracles children" and all the wonderful learning and growth we see each day. We look forward to another exciting month filled with new experiences, learning opportunities, and special memories together.

*Learning Through Shapes, Puzzles & Lacing*🧩🌈💠

Mini Miracle kids enjoyed exploring a wonderful variety of shapes, colours, patterns, and sizes through hands-on puzzles, beading, and lacing activities. They were excited to explore the different materials, match shapes, create patterns, and figure out how each piece fit together.

These activities provide children with opportunities to develop important "problem-solving and thinking skills" as they observe, compare, sort, match, and work out different challenges independently. Recognizing different shapes and sizes also helps build their early math and cognitive skills.

- The beading and lacing activities are especially beneficial for developing Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. As the children carefully picked up small pieces, threaded them through the laces, and followed patterns, they strengthened the small muscles in their hands and fingers—skills that will support future activities such as writing, drawing, buttoning, and using scissors.

-Most importantly, the children were learning through play, exploration, and hands-on discovery, while building confidence, concentration, patience, and creativity. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored and completed each activity! 💕

Our Mini Miracles kids had a wonderful and joyful Music Class with Mrs. Jenny!! The kids, had so much fun singing songs, dancing to different rhythms, and exploring a variety of musical instruments. They were especially excited to watch Mrs. Jenny play her beautiful violin! 🎻

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn, explore, express themselves, and enjoy music together. We love seeing their excitement and confidence grow through these special music experiences.

✨ The Light Table ✨

The children had a wonderful time exploring and learning with our "New light table!** They were so excited to use it and enjoyed discovering the different colours of light while exploring letters, shapes, animals, and patterns.

The light table provides a fun, hands-on learning experience that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

Benefits of our light table activities include;

* 🧩 Vocabulary Development: Encourages children to learn and use new words while exploring different materials, objects, letters, and animals.
* 🎨 Colour & Pattern Recognition: Helps children identify and learn different colours, shapes, patterns, and sequences.
* ✋ Fine Motor Development- Strengthens fine motor skills through hands-on activities such as picking up, placing, sorting, and arranging materials.
🔤 Early Literacy & Learning:Supports letter recognition and creates opportunities for children to become familiar with letters and early writing concepts.

As we wrap up another wonderful year at Mini Miracles Day Home, we want to say what a fantastic year it has been! The kids, have grown, learned, explored, and created so many special memories together.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Sarah, our amazing music teacher. The children absolutely loved their music classes with her throughout the year. We are sad to see her retire, but we wish her a happy and well-deserved retirement filled with many blessings. Mini Miracle kids were proud to receive their music certificates, celebrating all they have learned this year. We are also excited to welcome our new music teacher for the upcoming school year and cannot wait to begin another wonderful musical journey.

Summer was all about outdoor adventures! The children enjoyed an art class with Mrs. Sonia Burke-smith where they had a wonderful time painting birdhouses and expressing their creativity. As always, Mrs. Sonia made every moment fun and memorable!😊

We also had exciting pool days, lots of water play, and plenty of laughter while washing and cleaning the dolls at the dayhome. The children enjoyed special ice cream treats, nature scavenger hunts, and exploring the outdoors while collecting rocks, sticks, feathers, and pinecones.

For Father's Day, the children lovingly created personalized BBQ platters decorated with their handprints and artwork. They also made handmade hammers and Father's Day cards to celebrate the wonderful dads in their lives.

To all of our Mini Miracles families, especially our amazing moms and dads, thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and trust throughout the year. It has been a privilege to care for and watch your children learn and grow.

We are now looking forward to a well-deserved summer break and cannot wait to reopen Mini Miracles Dayhome in mid-August for another exciting year filled with learning, laughter, and new adventures. 😊
