Children First: Eagle Ridge Nest

Children First: Eagle Ridge Nest Children First: Eagle Ridge Nest provides high quality, affordable, accessible child care.

Children First: Eagle Ridge Nest offers a home-like and caring environment for children. We are housed in two residential buildings with shared play areas in the front and back yards. All of our educators are certified by the Government of Alberta as Early Childhood Educators. We have a facility-based licensed and pride ourselves on providing the highest quality child care. At Children 1st, children receive individualized care in an early learning environment that helps them grow and develop physically, socially, creatively, and cognitively. Traditional Lands Acknowledgement

Children First acknowledges the traditional lands upon which we play, learn, and live. We honour the courage, strength, and resiliency of Indigenous children and their families. We honour all children as Mighty Learners and Citizens who are capable and competent. We will continue to learn from children's achievements, strength, and endurance as we place circles of support around our children and their families. Children First is located on Treaty 8 territory, the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree and Dene and the unceded territory of the Métis. We acknowledge that these lands have been ancient gathering places for many Indigenous peoples for thousands of years. We make this land acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose lands upon which we reside or visit.

Today, our whole team pulled together to prepare for the re-opening of our Parrots room and the many transitions that September brings. While one group co-researched the most effective ways to move boxes and create a welcoming space for the younger toddlers, another group adapted the Hummingbirds room to respond to the needs of upcoming children.

We are incredibly thankful the hard work and dedication of our amazing team.

Thank you for supporting us as we nurture our children as capable citizens. We see this as an opportunity to highlight the learning that is uncovered from the holistic play-based goal Diversity and Social Responsibility. Through this fundraising and walk, children have the opportunity to engage in practices that respect diversity and fund innovation that aligns with social responsibility.

Take care,
Nancy and Brittany
