Heavenly Father,

On this World Teachers’ Day, October 5, we give thanks for all educators who faithfully guide, inspire, and nurture others.

Bless them with wisdom, patience, strength, and joy. May they feel valued for the difference they make each day. Keep them faithful in their calling, grateful for every opportunity to teach, and blessed with hope and peace.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of educators and for the lives they touch.

On Friday, the students, staff, and community of Sister Mary Phillips School gathered at Saint Paul Church to celebrate Mass and give thanks for a wonderful beginning of our school year.

Thank you to Father Johnny for celebrating with us and for reminding us to place our trust in God and to strive each day to live lives filled with kindness.

Attention Father Beauregard families- Please use the back entrance of the school this morning.

There will also be several bus delays in Abasand as RCMP and Fish and Wildlife work to keep everyone safe.

There is currently a family of bears at the front entrance of Father Beauregard School. RCMP and Fish and Wildlife are on site and are working to clear the area.

Until further notice, please do not use the front entrance of the school.

As per the direction of Fish and Wildlife, all families are asked to use the back entrances when bringing students into the school this morning. This includes EEP and Kindergarten families, who should also use the back entrance rather than their regular entry doors.

For families using Drop & Go in the parking lot, students will enter through the side staff entrance. This will reduce the amount of time students are outside while transitioning from their vehicle into the school.

Please use caution when arriving at the school and follow the directions of school staff, RCMP and Fish and Wildlife.

We will provide an update to families as soon as the area has been cleared and regular entry procedures can safely resume.

They are your teachers. They get up early, stay up late. They do prep work and marking at all hours. Teachers give our students a little piece of themselves each and every day. There is no easy day in the classroom. Teachers are always "on".

She was 6 years old. She was torn away from her family. Her story is tragic, and sadly not unique. Phyllis Webstad shares the story of her youth with far too many. In 2013 she created the first Orange Shirt Day.

Every year on September 30th we remember residential schools and their unfortunate legacy on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We will not forget.
