Please join us in giving a warm welcome back to Mrs. Ellen Martinez-Moody to FMCS! She will be one of our Grade 1 teachers for 2026-2027.
Mrs. Martinez-Moody brings a passion for Christian education, inclusive learning, and partnering with families to help students grow in faith and knowledge. Originally from the Philippines, she holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Elementary Education. Her rich background in international hospitality, her years of service as an Educational Assistant in Canada, and her experience raising a son with diverse learning needs all shape her heart for the classroom.
Here is a short message from Mrs. Martinez-Moody:
"Teaching is more than a profession for me; it is God’s calling on my life. As a wife, mother, and follower of Christ, I am passionate about creating a Christ-centered classroom where every child feels valued, encouraged, and equipped to grow academically, spiritually, and in character. I believe every child is uniquely created by God and has a purpose. It is a joy to partner with families as we help students grow in faith, knowledge, and the love of Christ.
'Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.' — Colossians 3:23"
We are blessed to have Mrs. Martinez-Moody serving our students and school community this year.
Welcome to the team, Mrs. Martinez-Moody!

Please join us in giving a warm FMCS welcome to our new Grade 4/5 teacher, Ms. Denelle Gale! We are excited to have her join our school family this year.
Ms. Gale comes to Fort McMurray from Newfoundland, where she earned her BA, BEd, and MEd at Memorial University. She brings nine years of teaching experience from Kinuso, Alberta, where she taught elementary classrooms.
Here is a short message from Ms. Gale:
"Teaching has always been something I love, and I feel lucky to do work that brings so much purpose and joy to each day. My goal is to create a classroom that feels like a happy place to learn. I want to build a space full of laughter, fun, curiosity, and joy, where every student feels seen, valued, and included. When I am not at school, you can usually find me reading, listening to music, or spending time with my husband, son, and our two dogs."
We are thrilled to have Ms. Gale step into our Grade 4/5 classroom to guide, support, and inspire our students.
Welcome to FMCS, Ms. Gale!

The Let Grow Summer Experience!
Summer is almost half over (Hard to believe, right?!?!). If you are tired of acting as an entertainment director for your children, we have good news. You can resign! 😆😂
We know every child is created on purpose for a purpose. Summer gives children time to explore the world God made. They do not need constant management to grow. This summer, we encourage you to step back so kids can step up!
When you allow children space to try tasks on their own, they build resilience. When a child says they did a task themselves, their anxiety falls and their confidence rises. The Let Grow Summer Experience provides practical ways to let children test their limits.
Click the link below for a free guide to replacing parental worry with pride and joy.
Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer! See you August 31!
