Thinking about a career in early childhood education right here in Fort Macleod? 🌱
BaseCorp's Early Childhood Education Orientation Course — your first step toward Level 1 ECE certification — is completely FREE. New applicants who aren't yet working in licensed childcare are entered through a monthly lottery starting each month.
A few things to know before you apply:
- You must be at least 16 years old and a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Work/Student Visa holder legally residing in Alberta
- If your work permit restricts you from working in childcare (or is tied to an unrelated field), you won't be eligible for the course
- High school students can take this course for credit (CCS 3110–3150)
- The course takes about 54 hours total, broken into sessions of roughly 3 hours each, and can be completed anytime online at your own pace
📩 If you're hoping to build your career within the Fort Macleod community, reach out to us! We're happy to write a letter of support on behalf of the society to include with your registration.

We’re excited to announce that registration for our 2026 Children’s Summer Program opens June 8, 2026!
Mark your calendars! Full program details, and registration information will be released on June 8.
Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Last year, demand exceeded available spots, so families are encouraged to register as early as possible. We know summer schedules can be busy, so families will have the option to register for individual days rather than committing to the full summer program.
Be sure to follow our page and watch for registration details on June 8. We can’t wait to spend another fun-filled summer with your children!
