Delays are expected and normal during the first few days of school, and families should anticipate later than usual pick-up and drop off times. In the morning many families take a few minutes to capture that first day of school picture.
Afternoon dismissal takes longer while school staff help new students find their correct buses, line up safely, and confirm ridership. On routes that serve three or four schools, this sorting process can add 10–15 minutes per school, meaning buses may be up to an hour late before they even leave their final school. This improves quickly as routines settle in.
Because every run is experiencing delays, our phone lines are extremely busy. We kindly ask parents to avoid calling during bus times unless you have an urgent concern, otherwise it is best to reach us between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Delays are part of the first week learning curve.
Parents can help by ensuring that their children are aware of their bus route number and stop location.
It is anticipated that all buses will be running at least 15-30 minutes late, and because so many routes are experiencing delayed departures during these first few days, posting individual delays is not feasible.
