Congratulations to both the City of Welland and City of St. Catharines on receiving funding through Ontario’s “Building Faster Fund” in recognition of their strong commitment to housing growth and development 🏠💪

These investments will help support critical infrastructure needed to accommodate new housing, including roads, water and wastewater systems, and other essential services that enable complete communities to grow and thrive.

The Niagara Home Builders’ Association is pleased to see local municipalities being recognized for exceeding housing targets and taking meaningful steps to increase housing supply across Niagara.

NHBA Calls on Niagara Municipalities to Act on Housing Affordability

Today, the Niagara Home Builders’ Association sent letters to all Niagara municipalities, urging them to submit applications to the recently announced Development Charge Reduction Program (DCRP) before the June 19, 2026 deadline 📝

This program presents a significant opportunity for municipalities to secure funding for critical growth-related infrastructure while reducing development charges that add to the cost of new homes 🏠
