I just have to share, why I LOVE what I do. For almost 20 years I worked in Special Education and the last 10 of it was so extremely frustrating. Special Education in my board took a huge shift and EAs were no longer in the classroom working with the teachers. Educational Assistants job description changed from Education, to safety, feeding and toileting. What that meant was the kiddos with ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, LD, High functioning Autism and the list goes on, were not getting the Educational Assistance that they deserved. When I left my career due to injuries and became a Certified Life Coach I knew I wanted to specialize in ADHD/ADD. This brings me to why I LOVE my career. I had the most amazing 20 something in my office today. She is one of many that have sat in my office now in College or University and are getting more support there than they ever did in elementary or high school. I am so thrilled when these students find me because sometimes it's the smallest of strategies that help them. ADHD is not a label it truly is a SUPER POWER. Teaching ADHDers to find their POWER is why I LOVE my job !!!
