Attention all kumite athletes Karate NL is hosting a kumite clinic on the weekend of Jan 9-11 with Yevhen Motovylin. This is a great opportunity to learn and train with one of the kumite coaches for Karate Canada’s national team. Yevhen is a very experienced and accomplished athlete and coach. Both Coach Yevhen and Sensei German share coaching responsibilities training Canada’s national team members. Coach Yevhen and Sensei German share a great personal relationship as both competitors and coaches with Karate Canada. This would be a great opportunity for Killick Coast Karate athletes to attend this clinic. Please read the attached brochure and reach out if you have any questions.

We had a great night of fun and food. We celebrated Christmas at the dojo last night. The students enjoyed hanging out,playing with each other and eating some pizza. Killick Coast Karate would like to wish all our students and parents a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We will see you all in the new year.

On the weekend of Nov 1-2 the Atlantic’s championships were held in Moncton NB. Matthew Bradbury, from the Killick Coast Karate dojo, travelled to represent both Newfoundland and Killick Coast Karate and we are very proud of this young man. Matthew competed in Kata and Kumite. Although he had a strong performance in kata he was unsuccessful in reaching the podium. However his kumite skills took him to the gold medal match where he lost by a narrow 1-0 decision to a New Brunswick athlete. Matthew has his sights set on a spot on the KNL provincial team with aspirations of going to the 2026 Karate Canada Jr. Nationals. We wish him luck in all future endeavours.
