Join the Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club for our 9th Annual Turkey Trot Run on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Montane Trailhead in Fernie, BC!

Start: Anytime between 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

This is a free community fun run. Volunteers will record your name and start and finish times. Start whenever you like—run, jog, or walk at your own pace!

Choose from two marked routes:
- Long loop — approximately 11 km
- Short loop — approximately 5 km

Dogs are welcome but must be leashed or under control.

Turkeys can be won for the following:
- Fastest long-loop male and female
- Fastest short-loop male and female
- Fastest teen male and female
- Fastest overall
- Best dressed
- Lucky door prize

There is no entry fee. Donations are optional, and all donations go directly to EVDSC to support our swimmers.

Important reminder: This event takes place on trails. Participants are responsible for their own safety and participate entirely at their own risk. Please use caution and be prepared for changing trail and weather conditions.

Congratulations Tim! 🎓

Tim joined our swim club this past year, coming all the way from Germany. In that time, he became so much more than a swimmer on the deck — he became part of our swim family.

We’ve shared early mornings, long practices, race days, laughs, challenges, and all the little moments in between that make being part of a team so special. It’s hard to believe that a year ago, we were welcoming Tim to our club, and now we’re saying goodbye as he heads off to begin his journey at the University of Lethbridge.

Tim, thank you for choosing to spend this chapter with us. Thank you for the energy, friendship, and memories you brought to our team. While we’re sad to see you go, we’re incredibly excited to watch what comes next.

Germany brought you to us. Swimming brought us together. And now, university is taking you into your next adventure.

Once a part of our swim family, always a part of our swim family. 🐬

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Coach Tait to the EVDSC coaching team! Tait will be stepping into Coach Cass’ management role as she begins an exciting new chapter. Thank you Cass for everything you’ve brought to our Dolphins family and wish you the very best!

Tait has been coaching for 8 years and absolutely loves sharing the joy of swimming. He’s had the opportunity to coach swimmers of all ages/abilities —from those starting their journey to provincial medalists and Canadian Trials qualifiers.

When Tait is not on deck, you will find him rock climbing, skiing, doing triathlons, cooking, hanging out with friends or playing video games.

Favourite food: Burgers🍔
Cool fact: Last year, Tait and his best friend skied Delirium Dive at Sunshine and completed every ski run at Lake Louise!🎿
