It’s fire prevention week! Our students are firefighters in training! They’re learning about fire safety and what it takes to be a community hero. A huge thank you to the Smoky River Fire and Rescue Department for their generous sticker donations! 🚒🧯

Ward 1 families and community members have two upcoming opportunities to take part in HPSD’s Community Engagement Sessions, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 at École Routhier School.

This year, we want to hear your thoughts on:

• HPSD’s literacy and numeracy interventions
• What should be included in a student code of conduct
• What good citizenship looks like
• Land-based learning
• Whether more students who are not performing at grade-level standards should repeat a grade
• Limiting student use of technology in K–4 classrooms
• A modified school year, such as year-round schooling
• Alternate programming, such as French immersion, Indigenous language programming, or Islamic or Christian programming
• Making extracurricular activities more accessible to families

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Terry Fox Walk. We walked a total of 1294 laps around the school yard which equals a total of 647 km. ERS students are very excited to announce they beat their goal of raising $2500 for cancer research by raising a grand total of $2522!
