When you make the life-altering decision to 'declaw' your cat you are amputating their toes in favor of an inanimate object that will one day end up in the landfill.
Declawing is always PERMANENT & always PAINFUL.

New York State Veterinarians Support Ban on Cat Declawing - Artvoice

We need to remind veterinarians that they took an oath when they were granted a license to practice in Canada and declawing is in direct conflict with this:
"As a member of the veterinary medical profession, I solemnly swear that I will use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society.
I will strive to promote animal health and welfare, relieve animal suffering, protect the health of the public and environment, and advance comparative medical knowledge.
I will practise my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.
I will strive continuously to improve my professional knowledge and competence and to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards for myself and the profession."

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.-MLK
These public Instagram photos and comments from two different people in two different practices, who work in the veterinary field, show a strong need for ALL of us to remind our local veterinarians that declawing kitties doesn’t fit into the oath that they took to protect animal health and welfare AND that the dignity of kitties DOES matter! PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO FIND THESE PEOPLE OR THREATEN THEM. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO RESPECT FOR THE KITTIES IN THESE POSTS, LET US SET AN EXAMPLE AND BE RESPECTFUL. THIS POST WAS DONE SO THAT YOU ALL CAN PERSONALLY TRY TO REMIND YOUR VETERINARIANS ABOUT THE OATH THEY TOOK AND THAT DECLAWING SHOULDN'T BE DONE AND TO RESPECT KITTIES.
Let us take the time to be reminded of the Veterinarian’s Oath…
“Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health and the advancement of medical knowledge.
I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics. I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence."
