Patty has advocated for homeschool admissions with post secondary institutions across the country and has assisted post secondary institutions in writing homeschool admission policies. She also routinely promotes homeschooling via television, radio, and podcast interviews.
Congratulations Patty, from everyone at HSLDA Canada. We are extremely thankful that you are part of our team.

Did you know that in May 2024, the General Education Development (GED) tests stopped being offered across Canada. The Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) has officially replaced the GED for high school equivalency testing in Canada, marking a significant shift in adult education and credentialing.

Registration for the Windsor Essex Christian Home Educators Connection 2024/2025 school year is open and will begin in September. Family membership is $10 for the year. Register here: https://wehomeschool.ca/wechec/
We send out weekly emails of homeschool field trips and events to create opportunities for homeschoolers to connect with each other and enhance their education. We host graduation, track and field, spelling bee, square dance, chess club and more. Membership is obligation free meaning you may be involved in other homeschool groups and pick-and-choose which events to attend- there are enough for everyone to attend something! This year we visited the zoo, skiing, observatory, fire station, apple orchard, water festival, drive in theatre, corn maze, curling, pet store, food bank, safety village, an airplane ride, a river cruise, crafting classes, a variety of farms, lots of museums, all kinds of tours, and several shows!
If WECHEC is not for you, you can email us for help starting your own group and we occasionally open up events to non-members on Facebook groups in Windsor and Chatham.
WECHEC - WECHEC is an email chain for homeschool families about field trips and homeschool opportunities to connect with each and enhance education.
I'm getting ready to watch and listen to what the animals do around here when the eclipse happens. Using the Cornell Lab Merlin app I can hear House Sparrow, American robin, Song Sparrow, Killdeer, White-breasted Nuthatch and Brown-headed Cowbirds.
