🍀🌺🌼🌵
It occurred to me that children don't often learn survival skills unless their parents are enthusiasts. Honestly, I wouldn't survive a day in the wilderness, and I admit I'm a wee bit of a wimp.
We've been learning some essential skills. We've already covered how to filter water in nature, and today we learned how to make a compass, using simple supplies. It was so cool!
We improvised slightly, but as the kids pointed out, “It doesn't weigh a thing to carry around some paper clips and a small magnet.” And guess what? They actually worked!
In addition to survival skills, we attempted to build castles out of sugar cubes as part of learning about the Middle Ages and area (love a good ol' double whammy) Only 27 cubes were consumed in the process! 🤣🤣🤣
Apologies to the parents! 😬🫣
P.s. RIP fake plant 🤣 it was sacrificed in the name of science.
