Well… this was a night to remember! 😄

A huge congratulations to Dale for taking home Best Table Topic tonight — and ALSO earning the legendary Shades of Infamy for the most filler words of the evening!

Now that’s what we call a full-circle Toastmasters moment 👏

Dale wore both the tiara 👑 and the shades 😎 like an absolute champ — proving that growth comes with a little courage, a little humour, and a willingness to show up and try.

At Centre Wellington Toastmasters, we’re a group of individuals committed to personal growth, learning, and stepping outside our comfort zones. We support each other, celebrate wins (and funny moments), and most importantly… we have FUN doing it!

Huge congratulations to Neil Dunsmore for taking 1st place at the Division Contest — what an incredible achievement.

Your hard work, dedication, and passion are shining through every step of the way.

Last night at Centre Wellington Toastmasters, Neil took home the Table Topics Tiara 👑—and honestly, no one is surprised!

Fresh off his speech contest win last week, he’s absolutely on fire 🔥 and now moving on to the next round. We’re all cheering you on, Neil—go crush it!

This is what Toastmasters is all about: growth, confidence, and celebrating each other’s wins along the way.

Elaine came to Toastmasters after realizing during a work presentation, “I need to get better at this!”

She joined in 2013 and has been involved ever since, earning her Distinguished Toastmaster award and qualifying as a World Class Public Speaking and Presentation Coach.

Elaine really enjoys the company at Centre Wellington Toastmasters, a group she feels is always interested in personal development and in supporting the growth of fellow members.

Elaine says, “When I first joined, I was nervous and sure that I’d never have the confidence to express myself as well as I wanted. But through Toastmasters, I’ve had so many learning opportunities and so much encouragement along the way, and now I’m happy to give back and help others develop their own skills.”

👑 Double Crown for Ash! 👑

At this week’s Centre Wellington Toastmasters meeting, Ash took home Best Table Topics (earning the tiara!) and the legendary Shades of Infamy award for the most “ahs, ums, buts, and so’s.” Now that’s what we call fully participating!

At Toastmasters, we have fun, we learn, we grow, we practice, we make mistakes — and we support each other every step of the way on our journey to success.

🌟 Meet the Toastmasters – Introducing Marina Kustermans! 🌟

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on one of our wonderful members, Marina Kustermans!

Marina joined Toastmasters to build her confidence and strengthen her communication skills after recently returning to the workforce. After spending eight years offering home child care, she realized it was time to step out of her cozy bubble and challenge herself in a new way — and we’re so glad she did!

Since joining, Marina has found our club to be a supportive and positive environment. She shares that it truly feels like a safe space where she can practice, be vulnerable, and grow. In her words, she feels empowered after every meeting — and that’s exactly what Toastmasters is all about!

Marina admits she visited the Toastmasters website (especially the CW club page!) many times before working up the courage to attend her first meeting. Her advice to anyone thinking about joining?

👉 “Just rip off the band-aid and come try it out. I am so happy I attended that first meeting and I have not looked back since.”

We’re so proud of the growth Marina has already shown and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
