Genetics for Generations Sale - a charity live and frozen genetics sale hosted at the Canadian Dairy XPO in support of SickKids!

Genetics for Generations will celebrate the power of elite Canadian dairy genetics to strengthen future herds while helping build brighter futures for children and families. Every lot sold represents an investment in the next generation of dairy cattle, farm families, and medical innovation in Canada.

“SickKids thrives on the generosity and creativity of partners like Genetics for Generations, who develop unique fundraising initiatives that simultaneously engage their community and support critical priorities within the hospital,” says Niyousha Nejatpour, Associate Director of Community Partnerships, SickKids Foundation. “Partnerships like this do more than raise vital funds, they help fuel ground breaking medical research, care and innovation, which directly improves the lives of our patient families. We cannot thank Genetics for Generations and the dairy producer community enough for their commitment to advancing paediatric care for generations to come.”

A special piece of dairy history has found a new home at the CDX office, two remarkable pieces of Holstein Canada’s legacy, the original Ross Butler True Type model from the 1950s alongside the newest 2025 True Type model.

Displayed side by side, they offer a unique look at how the vision of the ideal Canadian Holstein has evolved over more than 70 years. The original reflects the standards and artistry of an earlier generation, while the 2025 model carries that legacy forward using modern production techniques.

Together, they represent decades of breed development, history and pride in dairy!
