Back to School Office Updates 📚✨

Wow… that summer just FLEW right by! ☀️😳

Ms. Yensen, our school secretary, is officially back in the school office this week! 🥳
And we’re excited to welcome back a familiar face! 💙💛Mr. Chi (Lourdes Class of 96🤩)will be joining us as the new Principal of Lourdes! 🎓🏫 He’ll also be at the school this week as we get ready for another great year!

A little reminder that this is a very busy time of year, so if you call the school and we don’t answer right away, please leave us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can! 📞

🎒 SCHOOL STARTS!
School starts for ALL students on Tuesday, September 8th! 🎉📚

Parents/Guardians of students who are already registered, keep an eye on your email over the next week and a half for important and pertinent information as we get ready to welcome everyone back!

🚌 BUS CHANGES
If your child requires a bus change, please email the school at [email protected] by Friday, August 28th in order for the change to be effective for the first day of school.

For changes requested after that:
📅 Monday, August 31st – Wednesday, September 9th
➡️ Effective Tuesday, September 15th
📅 Thursday, September 10th – Wednesday, September 16th
➡️ Effective Tuesday, September 22nd

So, if you need a bus change for the first day of school, please get those requests in by Friday! 🚌💨

Thinking about registering your child at Our Lady of Lourdes? We’d be happy to help!
Feel free to stop by the school this week, Monday–Friday during the following times:
🕘 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
🕐 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Please bring the following original documents with you:
• Ontario Health Card
• Birth Certificate/Citizenship information
• Proof of Address (utility bill, tax receipt, rent receipt, etc.)
• Baptismal Certificate
📌 No photocopies are needed! We just need to see the original physical documents.

🌞 Can you believe we’re already almost halfway through August? This summer is flying by!

🚌 Busing Changes for the First Day of School
If you have moved over the summer or need to update your child’s busing information for the first day of school, please email the school at [email protected] by Friday, August 28. This will allow time for busing changes to be made before the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8.
AJ Bus Lines is very busy setting up routes for all schools in Elliot Lake, and changes require additional notice at the start of the school year.

As per Algoma & Huron-Superior Transportation Services (AHSTS) policies:
~Most JK & SK students: busing is provided door-to-door.
~Grades 1–8: students who live more then 1.6kms from the school are assigned a stop

🏫 School Office Reopening
Ms. Yensen, our school secretary, will be back in the office starting Monday, August 24 for anyone with questions or looking to register their child at Our Lady of Lourdes French Immersion.

As we get closer to the start of the school year, the office can get quite busy. We appreciate your patience and will respond to messages as quickly as possible.

🎓✨ Grade 8 Graduation Day! ✨🎓

Today we proudly celebrate our Grade 8 graduates as they prepare to take their next big step into high school this September! 🌟

This year has been filled with learning, growth, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Whether students have been part of our school community for many years or joined us more recently, each one has left a special mark on our school and contributed to the spirit of our classrooms.

Our graduates have shown perseverance, kindness, leadership, and determination, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished. Each student has been a blessing to our school community, and we are grateful for the talents, energy, and unique gifts they have shared with us.

As they begin this exciting new chapter, we encourage them to embrace every opportunity, believe in themselves, and continue striving for their goals. The future is full of possibilities, and we know they are ready for the journey ahead.

Congratulations, Grade 8 Graduates! 🎉 We wish you success, happiness, and wonderful adventures as you head off to high school.

🎭😂 Lourdes Presents: Monday Night Live! 😂🎭

We’re a little later than usual this year, but that’s okay—we like to keep everyone guessing! Instead of Thursday Night Live, we’re bringing you Monday Night Live on Monday, June 22 at 6:00 PM.

💲 $5 per person
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 $10 per family

Come see our students:
🎤 Sing like they’re headlining a world tour
💃 Dance like nobody’s watching (except the entire audience)
😂 Perform comedy skits that may or may not make the teachers nervous
🎬 Show off talents we didn’t even know they had!

Warning: Side effects may include laughing, cheering, spontaneous standing ovations, and asking, “When did they learn to do that?!”

All proceeds support the Arts Program here at Lourdes, helping our students continue to shine on stage.

See you there for a night of talent, laughter, and unforgettable moments! 🌟

🎓✨ Kindergarten Graduation Day! ✨🎓

Today we celebrate our amazing Kindergarten graduates as they take their next big step into Grade 1! 🌟

What a joy it has been to watch these little learners grow in confidence, kindness, creativity, and curiosity throughout the year. Their smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm have filled our classrooms with so much happiness.

Each one of these children is a true blessing, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished. As they move on to Grade 1, we know they will continue to shine, learn, and achieve wonderful things.

Congratulations, Kindergarten Graduates! 🎉 We are cheering you on every step of the way and can't wait to see all the amazing adventures that lie ahead.

🏁😂 The staff at Our Lady of Lourdes French Immersion Catholic School when they realize the finish line is in sight and the last month of school has officially begun! 😂🏁

This school year has absolutely flown by! One minute it was September… and now we’re racing into the last month of school faster than an inflatable unicorn chasing summer vacation. 🦄💨

The competition was fierce:
🌭 The wiener dog refused to be the wurst and absolutely relished the victory. Rumour has it our 6’8” teacher nearly dragged the back end of the costume across the finish line. 😂
🐔 The chickens were completely winging it.
🐉 The dragon came in fired up.
🦄 The unicorns brought speed, sparkle, and chaos.
🧙‍♂️ And the gnome looked like he took a wrong turn leaving the garden.

Safe to say… our staff may not be Olympic athletes, but we sure know how to have fun! 🎈🤣
