👟 What a fantastic day for our cross country team! Our athletes represented our school with pride, determination, and great sportsmanship. We are so proud of their hard work and effort! 🥇

A huge thank you to our coaches for their time and dedication, to RDHS for the use of their yard, and to all the families who came out to cheer on our runners and show their support! Your encouragement means so much to our athletes. 👏🏽

🧡 Orange Shirt Day at SCPS 🧡

Today our students took time to learn, reflect and remember as we recognized Orange Shirt Day.

As a whole school we took a quiet moment to reflect and tie orange ribbons to our fence as a symbol of remembrance and our commitment to creating a school community where every child feels valued, welcomed and safe.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

All students took part in bus evacuation practice today. They learned how to exit out the front, the back and how to do a split exit. Students were excellent listeners and took these practices very seriously. Great job Panthers!

🧡 Orange Shirt Day – Wednesday, September 30🧡

On Wednesday, our school community will recognize Orange Shirt Day, a day to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, remember the survivors, and reflect on the ongoing journey of truth and reconciliation.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange as a symbol of remembrance and our commitment to ensuring that Every Child Matters.

🧡 Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and that they belong.

Mrs Thompson’s class has been talking about how readers and writers use visualization and that visualization involves the senses. Students went outside and closed their eyes for 2 minutes and then opened their eyes for 2 minutes and focused on what they could hear, smell, feel and see. Then the students wrote and drew their own experiences using details and descriptions from the 4 minute activity.
