So much to be thankful for!

Mrs. Walker’s class took some time to brainstorm the things they are thankful for, then added their ideas to the colourful tail feathers of their very own Thanksgiving turkeys. From family and friends to pets, food, school and home, they came up with lots to be grateful for!

We love seeing all of their colourful creations and the special things that mean the most to them.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂🦃

Stone Soup came to life in the classroom!

Mrs. Haluza’s class has been studying the story Stone Soup and learning about the importance of contributing what you can and working together.

To wrap up the unit, everyone pitched in to prepare their very own Stone Soup! After lots of chopping, peeling and teamwork, they got to sit down and enjoy the delicious soup together.

What a fun way to bring a story to life!

We had some special guests at Westhaven today!

Members of the Edson Eagles hockey team stopped by Miss Haluza’s class to spend some time reading with our students. The kids loved having the players visit and share a story with them!

Thank you to the Edson Eagles for taking the time to come read with us!

What a great day for our cross country runners! We are so proud of everyone who showed up, challenged themselves and represented Westhaven with great sportsmanship!

Our Cross Country Club has been practicing over their lunch breaks to prepare for the big race and all that hard work paid off! Every runner who crossed that finish line should be proud of their accomplishment! 🎉

A special shoutout to Edward W. who placed 5th, and Chloe P. who placed 9th!

Way to go, Westhaven!!

We had a very special visitor at Westhaven!

As part of Addi’s writing assignment, she brought in Scotch to show her classmates how to safely approach, groom and feed a horse.

A big thank you to Addi and her family for making Thursday’s Showtime special and giving her classmates such a fun, hands on learning experience.

Great job Addi! And thank you Scotch, for being such a wonderful guest!
