SWKKF - Tournament Rules Regulations v2.6
In all SWKKF sanctioned events, the wearing of any form of jewelry is strictly forbidden during both training and competition. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of all participants by preventing potential injuries. This includes, but not limited to watches, wristbands, necklaces, hair slides or metal hairgrips, and any type of piercing. Taping over piercings is not an acceptable option. To contain long hair, one or two discreet rubber bands on a single ponytail is permitted

Days leading up to the tournament
Accommodations - Days Inn and Jays Inn both have a block of rooms booked for 2 nights. When you book your room, mention my club name as the blocks are under "Prairie Wado Kai Karate Club."
Days Inn - the deadline for the block of rooms is February 6, 2026.
Jay's Inn - The deadline for the block of rooms in January 13th, 2026

Tournament - Pre-registration is encouraged, I will be sharing the registration sheet once we have it made up. can fill out and email back to me and will be considered as registered, payment can be made at the door!

You are invited to join a special SWKKF Kata-Focused Brown & Black Belt Zoom Workshop on January 11th, 2026, from 10:45 AM to 1:00 PM EST. This training session brings together several of our federation’s senior instructors for an in-depth look at kata refinement and technical development.

Warm up and join us for a focused and engaging training clinic designed to strengthen fundamentals, refine technique, and elevate overall performance for practitioners at every stage of their journey.
We are honoured to welcome Sensei Chris Marler and Sensei Clint McCrea as guest instructors. They will be leading training throughout the session and sharing their expertise with all participants.

Training Focus Areas
Randori Development
Controlled, dynamic engagement drills that sharpen timing, distancing, awareness, and adaptability. These sessions help students bridge the gap between structured technique and applied movement, building confidence under pressure.
Shintani-Style Shindo Training
Experience Shindo, the art created by Sensei Shintani. This training refines body movement, rhythm, and flow while deepening understanding of core Wado principles—an excellent way to elevate overall karate performance.
Shintani Kihon Kumite Techniques
Work through key Kihon Kumite drills to develop timing, distancing, and control. Students will then apply kihon in live kumite scenarios, supported by judging-focused and coaching drills that sharpen precision and tactical awareness.
