➗ Math doesn't have to be scary. ❤️ It can be fun! Really!

For a lot of adults, just hearing the word math brings back bad memories of sitting in a classroom thinking, “I don't get this.”

But here's the thing — you already use math every single day.

🛒 Comparing prices at the grocery store
🍪 Doubling a recipe
🔨 Measuring for a home project
💰 Figuring out a budget
⛽ Calculating fuel costs
📏 Measuring, estimating and planning
⏰ Telling time

Math isn't just worksheets and equations. It's a skill you already use in real life.

And when it comes to learning, there isn't one “right” way that works for everyone.

Some people need to see it. Some need to do it. Some need it broken down step-by-step. Others need a real-life example before it finally clicks.

That's why I adjust how I teach to the person sitting in front of me. We'll figure out what makes sense to you and work from there — without judgment or pressure.

📚 If you're preparing for the CAEC exam and math is the part making you nervous, Edson & District Community Learning Society can help you build your skills and your confidence.

You don't have to be a “math person.”

You just need someone willing to explain it in a way that works for you. 💚

📚 Does your kid's homework ever make you wonder if you actually went to school? 😅

Math looks different than you remember. You haven't thought about fractions in 20 years. Or maybe reading and writing were never your favourite subjects to begin with.

That's okay.

At Edson & District Community Learning Society, we help adults strengthen their reading, writing and math skills — including parents and caregivers who simply want to feel more confident helping their kids.

No judgment. No feeling embarrassed because you "should already know this." Just friendly, one-on-one support to help you figure it out.

Because sometimes helping your child starts with giving yourself a little refresher. ❤️

This plea is for any Bags that have been outstanding and you think it's too late to return it. Please return the Bag to the Edson Public Library, no questions asked. Thank you. Just a reminder before we close for the summer, if you are thinking about getting your CAEC and think you might need tutoring, please contact us. For anyone who have passed GED tests but not completed their GED certification, you have less than one year to apply those tests to the CAEC.
