I blinked and Fall was here! πŸ‚πŸ„πŸŒΎ

Yesterday when I took this picture I laughed at how small our pumpkin plant made this little one look! Our fall garden is feeling so good with pumpkins and sunflowers surrounding us as we play outside!

We had a wonderfully full Summer but I’m excited for all the adventures and activities Fall will bring! (Some of my favourite activities are in the Fall! 🀭)

Lots of amazing things to do in Edmonton!

🌞 **August in Edmonton: Where Irony and Laughter Collide!** 🌞

πŸŽ‰ **Disco in the Park** πŸŽ‰
Bringing together young and old for a shared dream of dancing, because nothing says "let loose" like disco moves under the summer sun. And yes, there's even a VIP Edmonton Riverboat Party – it's disco on water! August 4-6.

πŸ” **Heritage Festival** πŸ”
Experience Liberia dancing, Ukrainian eats, and Japanese artwork all in one spot, because who needs a world tour when you've got Edmonton's Heritage Fest? A legendary festival that's temporarily relocated to an "EXPO Centre" – because who needs heritage sites when you can have exhibition halls? August 5-7.

🎭 **Freewill Shakespeare Festival** 🎭
Shakespeare for everyone, from kids to scholars, because who doesn't love iambic pentameter under a tent? And this year, they're adding the Cristal Palace Spiegeltent – because who needs a classic theater when you can have a fancy tent? August 8 - September 3.

🎢 **Edmonton Folk Music Festival** 🎢
A feast of music, food, and a grassy slope – Edmonton's way of saying, "Who needs Coachella when you can have a natural amphitheater?" Let the irony of folk tunes and city skyline backdrop serenade your senses. August 10-13.

🌴 **Cariwest Caribbean Arts Festival** 🌴
Downtown turns into the Caribbean – because why travel when you can just dance your way to Churchill Square? Celebrate Caribbean culture with costumes, cuisine, and a Caribbean Village. August 11-13.

🎭 **Together We Fringe** 🎭
From main stages to local pubs, experience theater that's as diverse as our weather. Edmonton's oldest and largest fringe festival, where even the performances are as unpredictable as an August thunderstorm. August 17-27.

🎸 **Blues Festival Slim** 🎸
The Blues Festival returns, turning RE/MAX Field into a bluesy haven – because blues and baseball are a match made in irony heaven. But hurry, limited tickets – don't let the blues catch up with you! August 25-27.

🎡 **Purple City Music Festival** 🎡
From underground to indie, Purple City Music Festival serves up music for discovery – because who needs mainstream when you can have indie vibes? It's like a musical treasure hunt! August 25-27.

🚣 **Pride Riverboat Party** 🚣
River cruising, dancing, drag – because sometimes a Pride party needs a little nautical flair. Sail away, irony included! August 20.

πŸ’ƒ **Alberta Ave Night Markets** πŸ’ƒ
Night markets in Alberta Ave District – because who needs sleep when you can have nighttime shopping and entertainment? It's like a twilight shopping spree! August 11, 18, 25.

Watch as the Elks go for the Grey Cup – because if there's one thing Edmonton loves more than irony, it's Canadian football. Antler up, irony warriors! August 10 & 26.

πŸ€ **Alley Hoop 3X3 Tournament** πŸ€
Basketball and giving back – because who needs regular hoops when you can have alley hoops with a side of community love? It's like slam dunks with a side of goodwill. August 19-20.

🏊 **America's Cup & Do North Triathlon** 🏊
Swim, bike, run – because regular triathlons are too mainstream. Edmonton does it with a river swim, a scenic bike route, and a run by the North Saskatchewan River. August 26.

🏰 **Fort Edmonton Park** 🏰
A journey through history with a twist – because why have one era when you can have three? A true Edmonton contradiction that'll have you exploring centuries in a day. All month long.

Trees are the ultimate symbol of strength, resilience, and growth. They stand tall and proud, providing us with shade, oxygen, and beauty. Remember to take a moment to appreciate these magnificent beings and all the joy they bring into our lives. When you plant a tree, you're not just planting a seed, you're planting hope for a better future. 🌳🌿🌱

Every year I love getting this butterfly raising kit from !! It is such a fun and educational activity for the little ones as they get to watch the caterpillars grow and transform into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies! πŸ¦‹πŸŒΈ

Not only is it a great way to teach them about the life cycle of a butterfly, but it also teaches them responsibility and care for living creatures. (Even with how minimal the care is for these little guys!) πŸŒΏπŸ›

I can't wait to see the excitement on their faces when we release the butterflies in a couple of weeks! πŸŒ³πŸ¦‹

Water play is not only a great way to cool off in the hot weather, but it also provides endless opportunities for sensory exploration and learning. Toddlers can splash, pour, and experiment with different objects in the water, all while developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

So grab some buckets, cups, and water toys and let the fun begin! Whether it's in a kiddie pool, at the beach, or even just in the backyard with a hose, water play is sure to bring smiles and laughter to your little ones.

Let's make some unforgettable memories this summer with water play!!
