Join us as we give a huge thank you to Archie! Archie served as a dedicated SANQC volunteer, bringing joy to events and serving students.

"I’m Archie from the Mental Health Recovery Practitioner Program. I am a volunteer for SANQC from the 2025 Fall Term until the 2026 Winter Term. As an international student, I faced adjustment challenges during my time at NorQuest College. This inspired me to become an active volunteer because it allowed me to adjust and learn about the values and culture of the NorQuest community. It helped me become more confident in interacting with students and have a sense of belonging on campus."

"I can say that connecting and interacting with SANQC staff, fellow volunteers, students, and the whole SANQC community is very meaningful. The whole journey is wonderful, and I can say that it made me a better and more resilient person. There were so many lessons learned and many activities that I enjoyed. The lessons and skills that I gained during my time as a SANQC volunteer are an important part of who I am right now, and I will always carry this and possibly pass this on to the community."

In celebration of National Indigenous History Month, we thank the miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre for hosting a variety of events that helped our community learn about the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples.

This land is rooted in Indigenous ancestry and heritage. Together we ensure representation and continued education of the cultures that laid the foundation. Let us never stop celebrating the contributions of these Peoples.

We're so grateful to our volunteers! Over the past year, you've dedicated much of your time to supporting not only SANQC events and activities around campus, but the SANQC organization itself.

We appreciate your conversations, your drop-in hellos, and your willingness as a forward-facing representative of SANQC, promoting a positive campus experience.

It's a joy to give back to those who give so much to serving others, and we thank our volunteers for their exceptional time commitment and dedication to showing up for something greater than themselves.

Your Students' Council Reps Hebah and Deogyne attended the Student Leader Orientation in Calgary last week. The session was hosted by Alberta's Minister of Advanced Education, Myles McDougall. The Representatives gained insight into advocacy at a provincial level and its potential influence on policy decisions.

Discussions centred on affordability, financial aid, tuition and student supports.

The experience was also a great opportunity to connect with other student leaders from across Alberta, giving them the chance to hear about the priorities and challenges facing students at various institutions.
