It's here! Studio time! Let's work together!
Studio time runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12-2 MST, February 28 through June 27. It’s a time for you to focus on your creative work in the company of others doing the same thing. Great for accountability and loneliness!
Participants are asked to mute themselves, and keep their cameras on (togetherness and accountability, yo). Unless you’re eating guacamole, then you should probably turn your camera off. The half hour timer will start at 12:05. We’ll take a ten minute break at 12:35 and the half hour timer will start again at 12:45. At 1:15, we’ll take a ten minute break and the final half hour will start at 1:25. You’re going to get so much done!
We want to be productive, but we also want to feel the looove and get to know these other amazing people. So, Fridays after the last timer goes, you’re welcome to hang out and chat.

Coming soon! Studio time! Let's work. Write. Sculpt. Paint. Carve. Some of each!
I'll host studio time via Zoom three times a week for two hours. We'll keep our cameras on (or off if you're eating cereal ... you know ...), work for half an hour, and take ten minute breaks. So good for accountability and for loneliness. You'll get so much done.
I'm really excited. More to come.
It's easiest for me to write when the stakes are low.
Here are a few strategies I use to keep the stake low.
Squeezing some lines into the five minutes between other tasks.
Writing as much as I can as fast as I can for 30 minutes so I have "something to work with."
Telling myself I'm only making notes.
Telling myself I'm re-arranging my notes.
Reminding myself that this is not the final draft.
Writing by hand in the dark before bed or in the morning with a coffee.
And jotting down ideas on any scrap of paper I have handy.
NEW academic coaching and writing group!
How are you feeling about this past semester? Did you do the work you wanted to do? Did you keep the promises you made to yourself in September?
It’s so frustrating to leave undone what we really want to do.
In January 2022, I am offering a package for academics that includes one-on-one coaching and a writing group. The coaching will help you with new perspectives and practices for your work, and the writing group will give you the dedicated time and support to sit at the keyboard.
My own writing practice finally changed (for the better – ha!) when I worked with a coach who helped me see and understand my current writing habits and offered me new practices, so I could change those habits.
I am an Associate-level Integral coach and I would like to offer you this same support, and the space to and write. I have space for four people.
• Writing group will meet Mondays and Fridays from 10am to noon MST to 2PM MST.
• The one-on-one coaching sessions will be one hour every second Wednesday. A total of 8 coaching sessions over the course of four months.
• All sessions will be over Zoom.
• $2000 CAD/person.
• In our coaching sessions we’ll work together to understand your current approach to your writing and develop practices that will take you beyond those habits into a new way of relating to your work.
