Every Child Matters.

On September 30, Ben Calf Robe Society joins communities across Canada in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Tomorrow we honour the children who never came home from residential schools, the Survivors who carry their stories, and the families and communities still healing from the harms of that system.

Orange Shirt Day began with Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at residential school. Her story reminds us that every child deserves to be loved, protected, and proud of who they are.

Reconciliation is not a single day. It is the ongoing work of listening, learning, and taking action. We invite you to wear orange, learn the history of residential schools, and support Indigenous-led organizations in your community.

Our office will be closed on September 30 in observance.

If you or someone you know needs support, the Indian Residential School Crisis Line is available 24/7 at 1-866-925-4419.
