💚 Another Saturday Spotlight! 💚

It takes a village to build a thriving community, and we are incredibly lucky to have some of the best people in ours. Today, we are shining a bright light on someone who constantly goes above and beyond: Brittany! 🌟

Between helping out at hot lunches, coordinating fundraising details, or making sure that information gets out to our families, Brittany brings so much dedication to our parent groups. She is a true pillar of our school community, and we couldn’t do this without her!

We asked Brittany to share a little bit about her experience volunteering with us:
🌱 What inspired you to start volunteering with the association?
“I wanted to be a part of a group that was making a difference for the school community. When I saw how welcoming and friendly everyone was, it gave me the drive to continue to show up and be involved.”
🌱 What’s been your favourite part of this year’s events?
“The glow dances are my favourite. Seeing the fruits of our labour finally all come together and bring so much joy to the school community is such a great feeling.”

Lilly has been an absolute rockstar for our school community; She is always jumping in to help make our school events and initiatives a massive success. Whether it’s curating decorations or ordering supplies, Lilly is always ready to lend a hand both in the forefront and behind the scenes! Her positive energy is contagious and her can-do attitude is inspiring to us all.

Big impacts start behind the scenes! ✨

Today, we are continuing our Volunteer Spotlight series by shining a light on someone who brings incredible care to everything she does for our school community: Kanna!

Whether she is keeping a big project running smoothly with her strong leadership, or handling the busiest event days with exceptional patience, Kanna is an amazing member of our team.

We caught up with Kanna to learn a bit more about what keeps her inspired to volunteer and what her most memorable moment has been so far.
🔹 Why she loves volunteering:
“I volunteer because I want to contribute to my children’s school community, and to be as involved as I can be, but I don’t think I could have had the courage to come out of my shell and volunteer if it wasn’t for such an encouraging team welcoming me in!”
🔹 Her most memorable moment:
“If I have to pick just one, I’d say the casino night where all the volunteers worked together to keep each other awake on the overnight shift through laughter and conversation. It was so fun to see a community of parents work and laugh together through being so tired!”

It’s easy to look at a thriving school community and think, “I don’t know how they pull it all off.” The secret? It’s driven by parents just like Kanna who step up to lend a hand whenever they can fit it into their busy routine.

🍎The Grade 3 Food Bank Drive is still going strong!🍎

RMA Families, we are so proud of our Grade 3 students for leading the charge, but they need our help to finish strong! We are still in need of more items to help fill the shelves for families in our community. ✨

Most Needed Items:
-Peanut Butter (A great source of protein!)
-Canned Meat (Tuna, chicken, and hearty protein options)
-Healthy School Snacks (Single-serve items like granola bars, fruit cups, apple sauce, and nut-free options)

📍 Where to donate: Drop off your donations directly into the Food Bank Box located inside the school!
