🙌We are not raising children for ourselves, we are raising them to be part of society🙌

This activity was about much more than sensory play and learning about nature. It was also a great opportunity to learn about teamwork and communication!
Kids worked as a team, divided the tasks between themselves, and learned that not everyone always wants to do the same thing. Sometimes one or two childs wants to work on the project, another wants to play independently, and sometimes someone simply decides to stand right in the middle of the road where everyone’s excavators are driving. 🫣
And that becomes another opportunity to learn how to communicate and express our needs clearly.
Instead of:
“Yyyy…”
We can learn to say:
“You are standing on the road where our excavators are driving. Could you please move?”
Or instead of taking someone’s toy, we can ask:
“Can your excavator bring some sand too? We need some help.”
These may seem like small moments, but they are exactly where children learn important social skills, how to express their needs, ask for help, listen to others, negotiate, cooperate, and respect that other people may want something different.

And one more time, this what I think: We are not raising children for ourselves; we are raising them to be part of society...
We are teaching them how to cooperate with people who may have different ideas, needs, and interests from beginning.
And sometimes, a simple afternoon of playing in the sand turns into a pretty big life lesson!

After that we move on front to water table with clean water.
