Getting our hip flexors burning today! You’re definitely going to feel these drills tomorrow morning.
1-Cone & Stick Drill
Partner up and start on the wall for balance. Your goal is to use a proper side kick chamber to lift the cone and place it onto the stick. Focus on driving your knee up, extending through your heel, and rechambering before bringing your foot back down.
✔️ Need a challenge? Raise the stick higher, use a smaller target, or step away from the wall.
2-Moving Target Drill
Now let’s add movement. As your partner moves the stick farther away, hop to close the distance while maintaining a strong chamber position. Keep your knee up, your heel lined up with your target, and avoid letting your chamber collapse between hops.
✔️ This drill helps build balance, control, and the ability to kick effectively while moving.
3- Hip Flexor Burnout
Balance a beanbag (or any small object) on your foot and practice slowly extending and retracting your side kick. The goal is to keep your knee up and maintain proper side kick position the entire time.
🔥 Ready for more? Finish with pulses while holding your chamber position for an extra hip flexor burn.
Strong side kicks aren’t just about kicking harder—they’re about control, balance, and a solid chamber. 💪
