1998-Present Competitor. Multiple Gold Medal Winner

2001: 1st Dan Blackbelt

2009: 4th Dan Blackbelt

2019: 5th Dan Blackbelt

2009-Present: International Instructor Level Certification

2007: began competing Internationally. Puerto Rico, Argentina, Australia, US, Canada.

Trained and taught locally and nationally for 26 years

Trained and taught Internationally in US, Mexico, Dominican Republic.

Cross trained in Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Ninjitsu; Capoeira

2014: Pride of Strathcona Award for Sports & Recreation Development.

2015: Began tenure as Head Instructor of Kodiak TKD.

2015-Present. ITF Alberta Board of Directors

2019: Team Canada Member competing at 2019 ITF World Championship. Inzell, Germany

2023: Team Canada Coaching Staff for the 2023 International Taekwon-Do Federation World Championship. Tampere, Finland. 5 Kodiak TKD members selected to Team Canada

2025: Team Canada Coaching Staff for the 2025 International Taekwon-Do Federation World Championship. Porec, Croatia. 7 Kodiak TKD members selected to Team Canada

Dads and Pads Success!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our Father’s Day Dads and Pads event last weekend on that rainy day. It was awesome seeing dads, families, and students on the mats kicking around, training, and making a great event happen. Showing up for your child matters! Every dad who stepped onto the floor gave their child something they will definatly remember. These are the moments that build connection, confidence, and our Kodiak community. It does take a village!

Something a little more powerful and personal while in Croatia last year at the 2025 World Championships.

“This is the man I owe so much.. 8 months ago to the day I was having a heart attack. Dr. Nav Dhaliwal was the volunteer doctor accompanying Team Canada to Croatia, where I would coach my two athletes. Without his intervention and advice, would I have been wise enough to go to the Poreč clinic, where they sent me by ambulance 90 km to go to cardiology in Rijeka? Just three hours after leaving the hotel the procedure took place and I was out of danger.

Today I want to honor this man and say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart. My gratitude is endless Thank you Nav Dhaliwal It was pure pleasure to bump into you again in Brampton in April during the ITF North American & Caribbean Championships Thanks again for everything.”
