Happy Wall of the Week Wednesday to everyone who celebrates 🧱

This week’s focus was built by Helmets to Hardhats Canada apprentice Kieran Eilers, these stand-alone pillars showcase the versatility and artistic potential of masonry. Using clay brick, glass block, and exposed aggregate concrete capstones, Kieran created a project that highlights both craftsmanship and creativity.

Students in our Job Readiness Program were encouraged to think outside the box. While some chose intricate wall patterns and others built fire pits, Kieran explored how stand-alone pillars could become a statement piece through the use of mixed materials and unique design elements.

We had a great time hosting Women Building Futures for their fourth Day in the Life session on Friday. It’s always a pleasure to see the incredible skills, confidence, and abilities participants have developed throughout their journey in the trades. We’re proud to be part of their exploration of career opportunities and look forward to seeing where their paths lead.

🧱It’s another Wall Wednesday!🧱

This week we’re featuring a wall designed entirely by Rylee, one of our soon-to-be graduates from the Job Readiness program.

After spending years working as a bookkeeper, Rylee decided to take a chance on a career in the trades, and we’re glad she did! Her hard work, creativity, and willingness to learn have been on full display throughout the program.

We can’t wait to see where this journey takes her as she continues to grow in the trade and pursues an apprenticeship.

We had a great time supporting Build Together - Women of the Building Trades of Alberta's comedy fundraiser on Thursday night.

It was great to see so many friends from across the industry come out to support a great cause, including those from The Educational Partnership Foundation, Women Building Futures, and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades DC17.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it a fun evening while supporting apprenticeship bursaries for women in the building trades. Can't wait for the next one!
