Finding an affordable, skilled, and experienced tutor who can deliver results in a short period of time is challenging! The pandemic has magnified the need for additional support for our students. After two years, we are seeing an increase in stagnation, regression in both literacy and mathematics, and a decrease in confidence. Frenchetvoila is a tutoring company that promotes learning by engaging learners on a personal basis. We empower K-12 students and adults in the art of French, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Our classes and tutoring sessions are primarily one-on-one and small group sizes with a specialized focus on Language, Reading, Spelling, and Mathematics. FrenchetViolaโ€™s owner and founder, Thรฉrรจs Djob is a French-speaking and Certified Teacher who has 10+ years of experience in Francophone and French Immersion Schools. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Technology from University (Quebec, Montreal) and a Bachelor of Education from Cape Breton University (Sydney, Nova Scotia). Her capacity to teach has taken her across the country as she has learned and worked as an educator in three provinces. She has worked as a French & Math Resource Teacher for students with special needs at the lโ€™etoile Acadie (Sydney, Nova Scotia) for 2 years. Therese also substitutes in the Edmonton, Beaumont, and the Leduc regions. Therese is passionate about language education and strives to leave a positive impact on each life she encounters, no matter how small. In 2016, when I moved to Leduc, Alberta, I and other French immersion parents noticed there was no French tutoring support in the area. I started by tutoring my own children and noticed a great improvement in their academic grades. In 2018, FrenchEtvoila was born and became the first tutoring service in Leduc. In 2018, Frenchetvoila was interviewed by Radio Canada and was mentioned several times in Business Link articles, notably in its guide for immigrants. In December 2019, Frenchetvoila won the 2019 Young Entrepreneur Award from the Economic Development Council of Alberta. In February 2020, Frenchetvoila was nominated by the Leduc Chamber of Commerce for the small business of the year. Thรฉrรจse didnโ€™t begin with a big business plan. She began with a motherโ€™s love and one heartfelt wish: to give her child the support he needed to succeed.

Then the pandemic changed learning for so many families. Children were falling behind, learning gaps were growing and parents were doing everything they couldโ€”while still wondering if it was enough.

Thรฉrรจse knew the support she wanted for her own children was something other families needed too. With a kind heart and a deep love for her community, she turned that personal mission into FrenchEtVoila Learning Center.

What began with her first son became another studentโ€ฆthen anotherโ€ฆand eventually, a whole community of children, parents and adult learners. ๐Ÿฅน

The journey had its ups and downs, but Thรฉrรจse kept going.
