Last Thursday, 29 grade 11 students presented their research at the Celebration of Research. And with that, six weeks of the Summer Research Program came to a close.
The final week was equal parts last-minute poster edits, last full days in the lab, and a lot of goodbyes and the Celebration of Research brought it all together.
To everyone who came out to support our students on Thursday - the families, supervisors, mentors, volunteers, and friends who filled the room and asked questions - thank you. Watching our students explain their work to a crowd that showed up just for them is the best afternoon on our calendar every year.
To the SRP 2026 cohort: thank you for your curiosity, your questions, your late nights on posters, and the community you built with each other. You learned new techniques, bounced back from setbacks, collected your own data, and turned six weeks into work you can be proud of. We could not be prouder of you all.
And none of this happens without the U of A professors and research teams who opened their labs, the volunteers who reviewed poster drafts, and the donors and supporters who keep this program running, thank you, all of you.
