If either of these categories sound like you, and you want the chance to get connected with a virtual pen pal who shares your passion for STEM, follow the link in our bio to apply to WISEST’s Pen Pal program!

Today is the final day to submit your project proposals for the 2026 WISEST Summer Research Program.
We are looking for researchers to host Grade 11 students for six weeks of immersive, in-person lab experience starting July 2. This program is designed to break down barriers for underrepresented groups in STEM and provide students with high-level mentorship.

- Only one form is required per Principal Investigator.
- WISEST manages student payroll and professional development.
- Supervision can be delegated to your research team (graduate students and staff).
- The program concludes with a Celebration of Research on August 13.

If you’re a Grade 11 student ready to spend your summer doing real research at the University of Alberta, this is your moment.

Two steps to apply:
Part 1: Google Form – Due March 23 (9 pm MST)
Part 2: Video Questionnaire – Due April 1 (9 pm MST)

Complete Part 1 first and you will get the link for Part 2.
