BEE day home is focused on building early explorers through a combination of directed group and individual activities and free play using a variety of mediums, resources and tools. Wendy has her level 3 in childcare and has run a day home for more than 17 years. BEE Day home is an approved family day home through North Edmonton Family Day home and complies with all accreditation and agency standar
ds. Within the monthly fees, both lunch and 2 snacks daily are included and subsidy is available for those who qualify. Lunch consists of 4 food groups and snacks consist of a minimum of 2 food groups each. Please check out the posted sample menus for a preview of options available. Children go outside daily, rain or shine to engage in needed gross motor activity, exploring the outdoors through both free play and group activities. The backyard is fenced with climbers, cars, sensory activities, swing sets and thematic toys to engage children in a variety of stimulating activities. Themes are based on child interest and seasons. Past themes include: Zoo, all about me, transportation, dinosaurs, construction, bugs, worms and dirt, forest, desert, the outback, summer fun, winter and snow, spring and flowers and harvest. Holidays are included in the themes such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween and Valentines. The routine is consistent each day so children are able to predict what is to come. Fine motor skills are worked on daily and scaffolded to the child's individual abilities. Centers are always available during free play to allow children to explore various dimensions of our world and can cater to their own needs at the time. Children complete individual reading daily and spend time listening to stories daily. Stories encourage children to develop a diverse worldview by exploring the weekly/biweekly themes along with cultural books in a diverse range of languages. Through circle time activities such as word development, singing and discussion, children engage in ongoing language development. This is a pet friendly home and children engage daily with a wide variety of pets and their habitats.
