Holding a system in superposition isn't just a parlor trick; it's the core requirement for the Quantum Internet:
Quantum Memory: To send quantum information over long distances, we need "repeaters" that can hold a superposition without collapsing it. These new macroscopic crystals act like "quantum hard drives," storing fragile data for seconds rather than microseconds.
Gravity Sensing: Because a macroscopic superposition is so sensitive to its environment, it can be used to detect Gravitational Waves or the presence of Dark Matter. If a massive object in superposition "feels" a tiny pull of gravity, its wave function shifts in a way that we can measure with extreme precision.
