ACFD Bridging Program Dental Dreams Unlocked

This intensive on-site clinical training focuses on the core procedures required for practice and assessment preparation. Participants receive hands-on instruction in:

• Crown preparations
• Operative dentistry
• Endodontics
• Pediatric dentistry
• Periodontics
• RPD design and surveying
• Suturing techniques
• Rubber dam placement
• Infection prevention and control

Program Structure

• 11 live clinical demonstrations
• 14 individualized work evaluations with detailed feedback
• Weekly laboratory support sessions
• Theory sessions covering IPAC, oral surgery, periodontics, and clinical decision-making

Training is delivered by experienced practicing dentists and University of Alberta graduates, providing guidance based on real clinical practice and current standards.

Participants practice using the same procedures, workflow, and grading rubrics used in the actual assessment, ensuring familiarity with the evaluation process.

A strong emphasis is placed on real case scenario discussions, which carry greater clinical relevance than simulator-only training and help develop practical clinical judgment.
