Bill 25 changes the Education Act by banning Pride flags from schools, removing "politics" from schools, and it also makes schools unwelcoming. It's Pride Month and Fyrefly is hosting not one, but TWO fabulous events centred on q***r joy this month! Our first event is happening THIS weekend on June 6 at the Fringe Theatre Arts Barn, and it includes several activities that spark q***r joy and restore hope. Tickets are pay what you can and free childcare is available by booking in advance. Please contact [email protected] to book free childcare! Proceeds support Fyrefly. This event is funded by the Beyond Belonging Grant.

The following weekend on June 14 at the Blatchford Field Air Hangar, we'll be hosting our Whimsical Cottagecore themed Mayor's Pride Brunch! Guests will be served a delicious brunch and extravagant drag by Cedar T, Felicia Bonée and Gabe Autumn. Our program will also feature remarks from leaders from all levels of government. Youth tickets are also available! The event raises funds for Fyrefly's lifesaving 2SLGBTQ+ programs. This event is sponsored by the City of Edmonton and the University of Alberta's Alumni Council.
