Give a warm welcom to our new star teacher in the Wholesome Notes family!🙌
Joe is guitarist with 5 years of teaching experience and 15 years of playing. He's been gigging around and area since his teen years, and has a music diploma from Macewan. 🎵
He will be teaching all styles and levels of guitar (plus some handy music theory), and beginner levels of piano! Make sure to ask him about his biggest musical influences during your next lesson 🌟

We'd love to introduce you to two of our new star teachers: Trey Maruyama and Grey Fairservice! Both Trey and Grey come from musical backgrounds in school and are excited to bring their love of music to you. ⭐
Trey will be picking up the ukulele and singing in his lessons (be sure to ask him about his musical theatre background 😉)
Grey will be helping students with piano and guitar (but brings a surprising love for theory along with him 🙌)

We like to make music accessible to all our students - which means finding cheap or free apps that work just as good as the physical thing! 👏 This week's app is Pro Metronome!
Need help keeping time with that new song you're learning? Don't know what a certain time signature sounds like? ProMetronome is a FREE app that will help instead of keeping a drummer around at all times. 🥁

We're so excited to announce a spring concert for all our students! This is a semi-formal event, where students have the opportunity to come in and present all the hard work they've put in on their instruments.
The same way games are an important part of a sport, performing is an important part of music, as it offers us the challenge of preparing a song to a fuller extent, bracing for nerves and overcoming any hesitations we might have about standing in front of a crowd and offering what we can do. This practice affects our lives in many ways, from helping with school projects, interviews, or any form of public speaking. To encourage students bravery, and to take on the step right for them, all we ask is for each student to stand in front of the crowd- past that, what they present is up to them, but we love to listen!
Practicing listening and respecting our fellow musicians is also an important skill, so we ask that families stay to listen to the performances after theirs, to encourage our peers and applaud their efforts.

We've come up with a list of 10 well known songs that anyone can learn - even if you've never played an instrument before. We believe EVERYONE should have access to learn the songs they love - no matter the age or skill level.
Want to know our reasons behind the list, or start learning with us? Send us a message! 💬

Hands up if you remember what a cassette is! 🙋♀️🙋♂️
Our students are studying the history of recorded music, and the cassette player is an important part! We believe in a hands on approach, where students can touch and learn to use the different items in the musical world, so bust out your Elton John cassettes and jam with us!
