We’re proud to share that Cruz Brazinha has signed with Torrent CF in Spain, where he will compete in the country’s top youth division 🇪🇸

Our journey with Cruz began through the Edmonton Whitecaps program, where Chance and Marcus had the opportunity to coach him as the program’s head and assistant coaches. His ability, work ethic, and willingness to learn stood out immediately, and we knew he was someone we wanted to invite into our Development Squad.

Since then, we have watched Cruz grow tremendously, both as a player and as a person. He is one of the hardest-working players around, always looking for feedback, asking questions, and finding ways to improve. He has also been a longtime supporter of CC Football and someone who has truly helped shape the standard of our program.

A massive thank you to CC Football’s agent Kenzi KNO @ CCFootball for helping make this opportunity possible and for continuing to connect our Development Squad players with opportunities in the professional game.

Congratulations, Cruz. We’re incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to follow your journey in Spain. This is only the beginning 🌍

How to improve as a CB: Win it. Reset. Play out. 🧱

A centre-back’s job doesn’t end after winning the first ball. The next action matters just as much.

We’re working through a match-realistic sequence:

Time the header. Drop and reset. Play your support centre-back partner. Then open your body and play out to the fullback.

Win the first action, then stay composed enough to start the next one.

How to improve as a midfielder: Breaking Lines 💫

Can you break a line? or are you just keeping possession?

A midfielder’s job isn’t simply to complete passes. It’s to move the team forward and affect the game.

We’re working on playing around the corner to break pressure and find the next forward option, instead of bouncing the ball back safely.

The targets are smaller than they look. This drill demands the right weight, angle and accuracy while playing at speed.

Scan early. Set your body. Play forward when it’s on.

The best midfielders don’t just keep possession, they use it to break lines 💫
