October is International Walk to School Month! 💚

This month and beyond, we encourage you to adopt a bit of active travel into your daily commute. Walk, bike, wheel, or park a few blocks away and walk the rest. Every active trip counts, and the journey itself gives kids time outside, a bit of independence and a chance to connect with their community.

Today, we pause on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour the children taken from their families, those who never returned home, and the survivors, families, and communities who continue to live with the impacts of the residential school system.

We've had the privilege to learn, listen, and work alongside Indigenous team members, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community members, and youth. We know the learning doesn't stop, and it's not always easy, but it is absolutely necessary.

Meaningful change doesn't always require grand gestures. It starts with taking the time to engage, listen, and empathize.

We have become aware of emails impersonating Ever Active and Shaping the Future which have included messages asking for payment details. While we have reported the emails to the authorities, we wanted to share some points to note from our organization.

1️⃣ We will never request payment details through a Google Form or any third-party application.
2️⃣ All of our communications come directly from an .org email address. No other email addresses are used by our organization.
3️⃣ If you receive an email from us that may seem off or feels illegitimate, do not reply or click any links; instead, forward it to [email protected], and we will confirm.

We're incredibly disappointed that this has happened, but it is the reality that we live in. If you encounter a fraudulent email, we highly recommend reporting it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
