Canadian Photography Learning Centre - CPLC

In this introductory, hands-on course, you’ll discover the full potential of your camera’s manual mode over four engaging weeks. Class sizes are kept small to ensure plenty of personal guidance and time to practice.

We’ll explore essential skills such as focusing, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to achieve proper exposure, as well as understanding metering modes, histograms, and white balance. You’ll also get familiar with additional camera functions that will help you confidently begin your photography journey.

Learn the fundamentals of how to use one speedlight / off-camera flash in Using Your Flash 1. We will cover functions of your speedlight, using Manual and TTL flash modes, different sync modes, the best quality of light from your flash, as well as what modifiers and gels can help you get beautifully lit photos.

Adobe Lightroom Classic is a 5 week course that will cover everything from how to import your photos, to cataloguing & key-wording, to how to edit and export your work.

Learn to create stunning natural light portraits of your friends, family, and clients!

CPLC’s Portraiture Photography class will guide you through shooting with natural light, mastering composition and storytelling, and choosing the right gear to elevate your portraits.

We will meet at a location where you will have the opportunity to take photos in manual mode with the guidance of an instructor in a fun and relaxed atmosphere along with other photography hobbyists and enthusiasts.

This 3-hour hands-on class will help you make the most of your phone’s camera. You’ll learn the basics of camera phone functions, how to control focus and exposure, explore different photo and video modes, and discover simple compositional techniques to enhance your shots.
