Hello Families,

On September 15, 2022 we will be having a Meet the Staff Night at Northmount School. It will begin at 6:00pm. We will show you all the people that will be working in the school with your children. You will have a chance to talk with the teachers and the education assistants and find out about the plans they are creating.

The evening will begin in the gym with Ms Nay and Ms Wright and then you will move to your child's class to meet and talk with the staff in that room. There will be lots of information to share. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome and Welcome Back to Northmount! We are excited about this year.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 we are inviting parents of the students registered at Northmount School to come and have a quick introduction to the school and the administration staff. We will have a short conversation in the gym and then go on a walking tour so that you can see for yourself where your child(ren) will be for the year.

We know parents have not been allowed in the school for TWO years and we would like to give you the chance to look around BEFORE your children are here. It will be a good chance to meet each other.

The first meeting will be 1:00pm - 2:00pm and a second meeting, with the same information, will happen at 6:00pm - 7:00pm. You only need to come to ONE meeting, whichever works best for you and your family.

Hi Everyone,
The Government of Alberta announced a three-step plan to ease public health measures. Under Step 1 of the province’s plan, there will be no mask requirements for students in schools or on school buses starting Monday, February 14. However, we continue to encourage students to wear masks.

At this time, adults are still required to wear masks. This includes all school staff, visitors, parents and school bus drivers. Learn more about how the provincial announcement will impact schools on the EPSB.ca website and on SchoolZone.

Thank you so much for your support of our school and public education.

01/28/2022

This is a reminder that Monday, January 31, 2022 is a Professional Development Day for our staff at Northmount School and all Edmonton Public Schools, so there will be no school for students on Monday. We will be looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 8:27 am

Rapid testing at home 01/17/2022

Our school has started receiving the at-home rapid test kits, provided by the provincial government.

For more information about rapid testing at home, visit the Alberta Government website for a video tutorial and test instructions: https://www.alberta.ca/rapid-testing-at-home.aspx.

Rapid testing at home Albertans can get a free rapid testing kit to help detect COVID-19 early and stop the spread.

Good morning everyone!

It sounds like freezing rain and snow will happen. Please send your children with their winter clothing even if they are in the car or on the bus. This will keep them safe no matter what the weather is doing.

Have a good Monday!

Have a great week!

12/31/2021

Hi Northmount Community!
Mr. Darrel Robertson, our Division Superintendent, has posted a message on Division News and the epsb.ca website about the children staying home next week because of an extended holiday called by the Alberta Government. This means that there will be no classes. The teachers will not be posting to google classroom, and they will not be online. The staff will be making plans about how to make being in-person safer on January 10, 2022 and if the Education Minister says we are shifting to online the staff will be making plans for that too.

I know that this may make next week hard for some families but it gives the school time to make sure we have everything we can in place, so that the children and the staff are as safe as we can make them. Please do not hesitate to call the school if you have any questions 780-475-5162. We will be in the office at 8:15 am

The staff wishes everyone a safe and healthy New Year. We will see you on January 10, 2022.

11/23/2021

Parents, Edmonton Public Schools has decided to extend family choice to the second half of the 2021-2022 school year. This means that you are able to choose in-person or online learning starting December 6 at 8:00 am until January 11 at 4:00 pm.

We would like to see all our students return to classrooms as soon as we can and with vaccinations we are pleased to report that there have been fewer cases of COVID-19 in our junior high and high schools. Now that you will have access to vaccines for your children ages five to 11 for the second half of this school year, we look forward to more children being in-person. This is because most of our children learn best in-person and benefit from all the experiences and supports available inside our school.

Parents you will need to make the choice on SchoolZone. Please ask the school for help with SchoolZone if you need it. You can call us at 780-475-5162

11/05/2021

There are a lot of things to remember about next week. Please remember to turn your clocks back one hour on Saturday night. That means Sunday is one hour longer!

Also, the students will not be in school for an extended long weekend. The students will be home on Wednesday, November 10, Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12, 2021. They will also be home on Monday, November 15, 2021 because of our Professional Development Day.

10/19/2021

A reminder that we have school tomorrow. It has been 4 days and we miss the students!

Our Page is up and running again! Whew!

10/19/2021

WELCOME! It has taken some time but we are ready to use this page for Northmount School AGAIN! This will be a place that will hold information for students and families that will add to what you will find on schoolzone and google classroom. There may even be a few pictures now and then. Thanks for being in the Northmount School Community and supporting public education! We will work together to help the children stay safe, healthy and be their best!
