Alberta's Tracked Prescription Program (TPP Alberta) has monitored the use of prescription medication prone to misuse in the province since 1986.
Funded primarily by the provincial government, TPP Alberta is a partnership administered by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta and led by a Steering Committee of healthcare organizations from across the province, each represented by members with expertise in prescribing.

Since 1986, Alberta's Tracked Prescription Program (TPP Alberta) has strengthened public safety by monitoring prescription medications prone to misuse.
In 2026, TPP Alberta proudly marks 40 years of advancing safe prescribing. This includes:
• 23,000+ registered TPP Alberta prescribers since 1986
• 6,000,000+ TPP Alberta prescriptions ordered since 1986
• 40 years of sustained commitment to public safety and responsible prescribing
