CPSA Registrar & CEO Dr. Colleen Forestier was recently featured in the Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta’s (PARA) 50 Stories for 50 Years series.

Dr. Forestier reflects on the experiences that have shaped her career in medicine and leadership—from rural family practice in Alberta to serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, and now leading CPSA in service of Albertans.

Yesterday was a day filled with connection and conversation as CPSA attended the 23rd annual Siksika Health Fair! We had the opportunity to meet with hundreds of community members, sharing information about our role in the healthcare system and our Path to Truth and Reconciliation. We would like to sincerely thank Siksika Health Services for the invitation to participate.

Today is International Hand Hygiene Day!
Did you know CPSA sets out specific requirements that regulated members must follow to prevent the potential spread of infection between themselves, patients and staff in Alberta’s medical clinics? CPSA’s hand hygiene guidelines specify approved procedures and practices to ensure infection prevention and control (IPAC) safety in clinics.

CPSA has released an updated Advice to the Profession document on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Clinical Practice. This document helps clarify expectations for safe and appropriate use and addresses potential benefits and harms of AI use in patient care.
