Have you ever noticed a child suddenly go from calm to overwhelmed with no obvious warning?
Sometimes the signs were there long before the meltdown, shutdown, or tears. The challenge is that the child didn’t notice them.
Interoception is often called our “hidden sense” because it helps us recognise what’s happening inside our bodies. It tells us when we’re hungry, thirsty, tired, uncomfortable, excited, worried, or beginning to feel overwhelmed. When interoception is difficult, children may miss these early body signals, making emotional regulation much harder.
Our new Bitesize Guide to Interoception explains:
✨ What interoception is
✨ Why it matters for emotional regulation
✨ Signs a child may be struggling with it
✨ Practical ways parents and educators can help build interoceptive awareness
Understanding the body is often the first step towards understanding feelings.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the group exam prep sessions over the past two weeks - each group was so dynamic and engaging in different ways, and I'm so glad we got the time to discuss, strategize and collaborate to support everyone's learning and review. Good luck on your exams!

Students don't need days of intensive review, in large lecture theatres or online meeting rooms full of dozens of other kids. Students don't need to be retaught the entirety of the course curriculum.
Students benefit from individualized support, review of the main concepts, a study plan and test taking strategies. Students benefit from a boost in their confidence going into exams.
Register today for my small group final exam prep sessions for Math 9, Math 10C, Math 20-1, Math 30-2 or Social Studies 30-1/2. Limited space remains (max 8 students per session).

Just added: Math 20-1 final exam prep session on Friday, June 5th.
This course proves to be quite challenging for many students, and with most math finals early in the exam schedule, there likely won't be a lot of time to review in class.
Come to the in-person, small group session to review main content, discuss study strategies and build test taking skills with a certified teacher who has taught all levels of junior high and high school math.

Note: there's been a change to the line-up, adding in Math 20-1
