Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate and demonstrate their research and/or ideas on different topics within the field of transportation engineering.

Liniker Monteiro is a Project Coordinator at Eurovia BC group of Companies in Vancouver. He works in the roadworks sector in Design-Build jobs. His current project is an Overpass construction and highway improvements. Liniker has an M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and is working toward becoming a Project Manager.

Tim's Bio:
Tim Robinson is a Professional Engineer working as the Senior Manager of Network Planning and Transportation Engineering at the Canadian National Railway's National Operations Centre in Edmonton, AB.

Graduating with a BSc in Civil Engineering Co-op from the University of Alberta in 2014, Tim has worked in geometric design of railway infrastructure, signal braking design, passenger and freight train scheduling, long term infrastructure planning, and in the field as a Transportation Supervisor and Transportation Manager for the CN's Alberta Central Lines and the Greater Edmonton Terminal.

Tim has presented at the Railway Applications Sections of INFORMS and is the Vice-Chair of the American Railway Engineering & Maintenance-of-Way's Committee on the Economics of Railway Engineering & Operations.

Meet our guest of upcoming "Talk To Your Alumni" event Ali Arshad

Ali Arshad is an Engineer-in-Training currently working in the Mobility Strategies group at the City of Edmonton. He is helping to implement the Bike Plan and to develop the City's Curbside Management Strategy. Ali completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta in 2016 and since then has gained experience working in both the private and public sector on a wide range of transportation planning projects. Through his work, Ali is passionate about learning about the many diverse perspectives of users of the transportation network.

Meet our second guest of upcoming "Talk To Your Alumni" event Pablo Orozco - M.Eng. CEM, P.Eng., PMP

Pablo Orozco is a passionate transportation professional and Edmontonian. He is currently the General Supervisor for Mobility within the Planning and Environment Services Branch at the City of Edmonton. His experience includes working as a transportation engineer for The City Plan project where he co-lead a holistic analysis of Edmonton's mobility system and land use patterns as well the Mass Transit Study which identified the necessary mass transit network and policy for 2 million people.

He has led the development of a Mobility Network Analysis and Mass Transit Planning work at the City of Edmonton both of which are implementation plans of the City Plan. He has also served as a Program Manager within the IIS department of the City of Edmonton. Pablo holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Toronto and is P.Eng, PMP and ELITE certified.
