From March 29 to April 2, 2026, our team traveled to New York City for 2026 NMUN New York. A delegation of 16 MacEwan students proudly represented Finland across 9 committees and delivered outstanding results. Our delegates earned 4 Position Paper Awards and 2 Outstanding Delegate (Peer) Awards, and after months of preparation and training, we brought home the Outstanding Delegation Award 🏆, the highest honour recognizing excellence across all areas of the conference.

This achievement adds another chapter to MacEwan UN’s legacy of excellence on the global stage 🌎🫶🏼. We’re proud not only of the awards, but of the collaboration, leadership, and diplomacy demonstrated by every delegate throughout the week.

During the 2026 NMUN NY week, our delegation was hosted at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations🇫🇮🇺🇳

We are grateful to the diplomats for providing an insightful briefing and for engaging with our delegates. Our delegates had the opportunity to ask questions relevant to their respective Model UN committees and deepen their understanding of Finland’s current positions in global affairs. This experience contributed meaningfully to our team’s success!✨

On March 6th, we hosted our 2026 Annual Silent Auction Gala, celebrating its 32nd Anniversary. ✨

Guests came together to enjoy a memorable evening filled with generosity, meaningful conversations, and shared joy in support of the club and its goals.

The event began with a Land Acknowledgement and Canada’s national anthem, followed by welcome addresses from Director-General Reise Romanchuk and Professor Vivian Giang. Our guest speakers delivered inspiring remarks, including Dr. Kevin Friesen, Dr. Andy Knight, MLA David Shepherd, MLA Rakhi Pancholi, and Mayor Andrew Knack. The speeches were concluded by our Secretary-General, Christian Galera, who expressed gratitude to our executives for their contributions.

We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests, including Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jerry Bouma🇳🇱, and Honorary Consul of Lebanon, Hussein Rahal🇱🇧, as well as our alumni🇺🇳, who took the time to support our event.

Catering was beautifully executed by Sawmill Banquet and Catering Services, and the evening was accompanied by a talented jazz trio from the MacEwan Music Club.

On February 28–March 1, the MacEwan UN Club hosted the Alberta Intercollegiate Model United Nations Conference (AIMUN 2026)🇺🇳🌎🏛️

We were pleased to welcome delegations from Mount Royal University, the University of Alberta, and the University of Saskatchewan. Delegates were recognized with awards including Outstanding Delegate, Best Speech, Most Diplomatic, and Position Paper Award.

The conference was opened with a speech by Faculty Advisor Dr. Jeffrey Rice and was closed by Faculty Advisor Vivian Giang.

While the greatest outcomes of the conference were the friendships and collaborations formed, we are proud to share that MacEwan UN Club delegates received the following awards:
